Shopping Spree!
March 28, 2009So today I spent the whole day at Pertama Komplex in KL looking for camera equipment! Yes.. very expensive hobby… I know.. And I wouldn’t advise anyone to spend too much time there with the recent recession and all. anyway.. back to the story!! I got some yummy new toys and so did Haresh! So it’s time to organize more shoots! hahaha…
- Test shot once I got home with both flashes on either side.
- we both were testing the Tamron 10-24 (might get it next)
- All the stuff I brought home with me
- yup! new addition to my list! Tamron lens!
- Test shot using a close up filter which we almost bought!
So we both got itchy and bought a Tamron 18-270mm VC each! yup!! one for the both of us. Of course Haresh’s one has the Canon mounting and we had to wait an hour for it to arrive (ggrr!) The most appealing part of the lens was the VC (Vibration Compensation) which is very effective! it beats the Nikon 18-200 flat! anyway… we got the lens and now we had to get some Hoya filters for it… after that a pair of PT-04 so we can fire up or flashes without them being mounted to the cameras! ermm.. what else.. yes.. an umbrella and the holder for it cause I keep stealing Alan Voon’s for shoots! (thanks alan)
If u notice the Arsenal clock above.. that was a test shot at home! itchyfied maximus! I like how the shadows turned out though. Pleasant day! well at least until i see my credit card bill

Special thanks….
February 1, 2009Had a PHOTOSHOOT this weekend!… and wanted to thank everyone for making it happen….(Alan leo, Jessy Lim, Racheal Ang, Michelle, Harsh, Alan Voon & Jeremie) Especially to Alan Leo(shorty) for being sporting enough to let us use his pad to shoot… and not to mention for the beers… Not to forget Alan Voon for bringing shit loads of equipment as usual….. yummy.. and most of all for the beautiful talented models that managed to put up with our shit…. hahaha Hope everyone had fun….
behind the scenes..

Only draw back was that somehow my ISO got boosted up to 1600!!!!! So plenty of noise in all the photos… sigh..anyhow the outcome is up on my multiply so go check them out!!

Tethered Shooting with my Nikon D50
January 28, 2009I was thinking about this before, but pretty much gave up hope when someone said “have to purchase expensive software to get it working”… Well decided to look it up again and thanks to the wonders of the capital WWW and youtube my hunt is over at a very al cheapo price.. ahha… no cost involved actually.
Ok not to confuse the lost souls.. for those of you wondering what is tethered shooting.. well here is a good explanation from wikipedia “to take picture while connected to a personal computer, for quick transfer of images to the computer (and sometimes also display on the computer screen)” In other words it’s a fancy way to get my picture sent to the lap top screen as soon as I snap it!! good way to check out what you took nice and big big! and also the subject gets to instantly see it as well! not to mention how pro you would look as well lar…
What you need to get it working? well… read on..
- Camera (Duh!)
- USB cable from camera to lap top
- Software to push the images : http://www.diyphotobits.com/
- Editor to view the images (adobe lightroom)
So the idea is to get the image downloaded to your pc as soon as you snap it, and get the photo editor to watch a folder and display any new images that pops up in there. Can anyone say YummY!
I won’t get into the nitty-gritty details cause there are other sites that explain it a lot better than I would… so go get the software for Nikon cameras here http://www.diyphotobits.com/ Just go to the downloads page. Read his site… this dude has an awesome site! Watch his video to see how to set it up : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dbAIC_p3lzo
Also here is the video on how to get adobe lightroom to watch a folder to display anything new: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_9p4LD1SqWo (it’s actually a tutorial for cannon and Mac users, but we Windows people are smart and can decipher anything.. hahaha)
*WARNING* There are plenty of other software tools you could use to get this done. I’m just blogging about what I tried and worked for me
Anyway.. here is a my test shot I took and got pushed to my PC instantly! ok larr… maybe not instantly… more like 2 seconds later! but counts as instantly rite?

BACK EDITING AGAIN!!… CS3 Babee!!
February 15, 2008Well all I can say is finally!!! I got CS3 installed… been feeling the withdrawal symptoms of not being able to edit PICS for about 3 weeks now!
Since I started playing around with that Ubuntu!.. hahaha.. anyway.. things are back to normal now.. so be expecting more pics coming up!..
